A foundation of clay
I keep telling people that attempting to change only a few issues they see as important in a given oppressive society is grossly ineffective at best. At worst, it is downright counterproductive to the cause they’re fighting for.
Many people don’t want major changes, no matter how much gross injustices and wrongs in a given society are screaming at them. Even professed radical people are hesitant, even reluctant to work for major changes. They just want to refurbish the house, while it’s clear the house is standing on shaky ground, on a foundation of clay.
My view is clear. No matter what you want to improve in today’s inhuman society, you need major changes, a massive, fundamental change, or rather a series of ongoing fundamental changes to get it done.
We witness once again, with a casual look at current society that nothing has changed, that nothing will ever truly change for the better in our capitalist, oppressive tyranny.
The establishment doesn’t want true changes. They like it like it is. They create and sustain the world they desire every day, and are pleased with their accomplishment.
The establishment in United States and all other NATO member states, for instance have gone to war against its own population long ago, and will keep doing so as long as they are in power.
Many people even grow angry when they are told obvious truths, about the stark lack of democracy and true justice and fairness. They don’t want to hear about it, ignoring it even when it’s staring them in the face. They become the establishment’s soldiers in its war.
It is an astonishing fact that all real-life indicators point in the wrong direction in western countries. The national assemblies are packed with warmongers and elitists.
Only the youth protesting against genocide and war is a positive sign.

You should want drastic changes, a revolution if you want
True environmental protection
True measures again the climate breakdown
True animal protection
A truly just and equal and free society
True antiwar, antimilitarism and anticolonialism measures
An end to capitalism
An end to racism/xenophobia

Incremental changes never work. The modern tyranny has very effective countermeasures against those who want to make major changes. All soft improvements are absorbed and negated. The wrongs are systemic, not a matter of occasionally bad outcomes of an otherwise fair society.
I’ve told repeatedly every single group I’ve been a part of this, but only a few have paid attention. Most of the members or former members have attempted to change the system from within, in vain. Most of them have been coopted by the oppressive system and become as bad as the people they once despised. Social democratic political parties have long since become center right (at best) and a dangerous, standing joke. They have embraced the racism, warmongery and financial policies of the right. «Greens» and former socialists eagerly join and turn reactionary. Nothing significant has changed. If anything, everything has taken a step or rather ten for the worse.
Let’s hope the young students standing up for the Palestinians have better sense, and keep radicalizing themselves, and never buy the massive establishment propaganda on any area of life and politics. The need for a truly ecosocialist society without capitalism is greater than ever.
